Main House -
The house is surrounded on three sides by large spruce and fir trees and the fourth side faces a full-length 22-foot-high stone wall.
There are many windows in the house which can be opened to allow fresh air in. Or, enjoy the quiet, dust-free, constant temperature environment which can be attained by leaving the windows closed. Temperature control is accomplished by in-floor heating throughout the house bolstered by warm, moisturized air on the second floor. The second floor is air conditioned so that the house can be maintained at the same temperature and humidity all year long.
All of the access doors in the compound can be opened with a master-key and/or one that only allows them to open an individual door, such as the guest house. The outside back door leading inside from the garage area can also be opened by a code entered by key pad. When visitors arrive, they can press the entry button allowing you to speak to them using the home phone system and open the door remotely. Entry into the main garage can be accomplished by garage door opener which then allows you access to an elevator which can take you to an unlocked second floor.
The home security system is activated and deactivated by codes which can be set with your permanent code and/or temporary codes to allow guests and renters to deactivate the alarm during the period you specify. When a sensor on the garage detects movement, such as an approaching vehicle, it will turn on the outside lights making your return easier or alerting you that someone is coming.

The home has wi-fi coverage in about 95% of its area and some outside patios. It is also wired for internet in about 14 locations throughout the house.
The house contains a telephone system that is capable of handling many outside phone lines as would be typically found in medium-sized office facilities. You can dial any room directly from any of the other phones and can page the entire house through the phone system. It can handle call conferencing and most phone sets have speaker capability.
Entertainment Capabilities -
Speakers are located in many rooms that allow playing the same thing in every room or different selections in each room. The main sound system contains thousands of stored songs, but you can also add your own music.
The media room system contains a TV projector with a 108” screen and a sophisticated sound system including a subwoofer which can be used to play digital music. In the downstairs area is a second TV hookup which can play two different channels at the same time.
The large game room area contains an antique replica of an English pub. Next to the entertainment area is an entertainment kitchen equipped for a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. Also, in that area is an elaborate 1,100 bottle wine cellar with an antique European carve cabinet.
Outside the entertainment area is a hot tub advertised to be for eight people. It is powered by three, 5-horsepower motors capable to provide a lot of water movement. A second, smaller hot tub, is located at the guest house and the stone patio outside the guest master is piped for water and electrical conduit in case you wish to add another hot tub.
Two powder rooms are available on the second-floor in the public areas and one bathroom adjacent to the first-floor entertainment area is accessible to guest without the necessity of going into the bedrooms.
Other Construction Upgrades -
The upstairs great room makes a massive statement upon opening the front entry doors. The great room contains a huge antler chandelier and an antique carved European fireplace.
All second-floor walls and the entertainment area are plastered using Venetian plaster typical of Santa Fe homes and not usually seen in Telluride. The floors in the main part of the living area of the house are covered with reclaimed chestnut.
The doors throughout the main house are extra thick solid wood panels. The entry doors into the office off the great room have large glass panels with sand-blasted artwork done by the Delta artist who also produced the antler chandelier.
The slate floors, patios, and walkways were installed by accomplished craftsmen. Note the even width of the mortar joints compared to those typically found in Telluride which use varying mortar width to allow quicker installation.
The lights throughout the house were designed by a local company to replace the standard hi hats shining lights on the floors that area architects normally specify. Lights in this house are aimed to show off decorative art work on the walls with floors getting reflected light. The lighting system also has programmed light paths designed to make life more enjoyable, such as:
-
Evening low light levels
-
One button at the entry turns on a pathway from the back door, up the stairs and into the kitchen
-
Vacation light program to turn lights on and off as if someone was there
-
There are three complete laundry areas in the main house to minimize the work of washing sheets and towels.
-
There are Ann Sachs tiles in kitchen and Ann Sachs wall covering in powder room.
-
Guest House: The guest house has three bedrooms that can sleep two people each and a large family area includes a great room, kitchen, and dining area. The guest house is complete with laundry, including a washer and dryer.
